Fritz Walter is the greatest personality of the circle of German football. He was a prolific score as well a great assister with his impressive vision, passing and stamina. He was very much to be a part in retrieving Germany from their being devastated from the World War II. Walter could score a hat-trick as soon as his debut with the national team. Walter was drafted into the armed forces in 1942, however, the end of the war found 24 year old Fritz. He narrowly fortunate survived from that war. Walter, who by now suffered from Malaria, again played for Kaiserslautern, leading them to win German league 2 times. Sepp Herberger recalled him to the national team in 1951, and he was named captain and led his country won their first World Cup in 1954. Ironically, that win came over Hungary, and for two years. Walter received his last cap during the 1958 World Cup which Germany won fourth place, suffering an injury which ended his international career, and retired from football at age of 39 year olds. Noted that his goal statistics mostly was done during German league was fail in standard due to the World War II. The Fritz Walter Stadium was named for his honours to be the home of Kaiserslautern.
