“The Great Captain” Daniel Passarella is the greatest central defender ever to come from the Americas and one of the best defender-scorer in history of the game. His leadership, passion and his organization prowess on the field led him as an outstanding captain leading Argentina to make a victory winning their first World Cup. He was a libero who excellent in the air despite his medium height and often join the attack to make a lot of scores. He was also noted for using his elbows against rivals whilst managing to avoid the referee's gaze. Passarella kept the second best record as top scoring defender only to Ronald Koeman. He scored more than 130 goals in his club career. His wonderful season was 1976 that he incredibly scored 24 goals from 35 matches. Unfortunately, He didn’t play any game in world cup 1986 just because of fractious relationship with Carlos Bilardo and untouchable star “Diego Maradona”.
